It brings together a multi-disciplinary mix of researchers, clinicians, consumers, industry providers, and policy makers. Sessions cover a wide spectrum of topics including biology, measurement and screening, advanced analytics including AI, epidemiology and genetics, public health policy and community engagement.
Keynote speakers include Professor Per Hall from Sweden’s Karolinska Institutet, and Associate Professor Weiva Sieh from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.

About
This year’s conference is hosted by the newly established MyBRISK (Breast cancer RISK) Centre for Research Excellence, which is funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council, and based at the University of Melbourne. It operates under the auspices of its Chief Investigator, Professor John Hopper, one of the conference’s founding members. This new CRE ultimately aims to make it possible to further reduce mortality from breast cancer, and more effectively, by identifying women at vastly different levels of risk at younger ages, determining which screening modalities are likely to be more effective, and helping radiologists to better detect cancers.

With thanks to the WhyStudyMD2022 Organising Committee for their hard work, commitment and guidance in bringing this special event to fruition:

• Associate Professor Jennifer Stone, University of Western Australia
• Associate Professor Kara Britt, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre
• Associate Professor Wendy Ingman, University of Adelaide
• Professor John Hopper, University of Melbourne
• Dr Sue Malta, Manager MyBRISK Centre for Research Excellence, University of Melbourne
